    I keep my cat …
I keep my cat outside because she really hates indoors. When she was 6 months old some of our friends picked her up off the street. They payed for some medical care and now we have had her for 1/2 a year (she’s 2 1/2 years old) No way would I ever force her to stay inside. She was born an outdoor street cat and she enjoys staying around the neighborhood here. Never came home with an injury or hurt another animal as far as we know.

I know, it’s so sad to see animals hurt.
But noone in their right mind can deny that ANY animal feels the urge to get outside for the same reasons us humans do. Imagine spending 1 or 2 days inside only. Enough to drive most people slightly nuts. Nevermind a lifetime.
I have 2 indoor cats who I know would have a better quality of life if they could spend time outside (granted, in a cat friendly environment). Whether their life would be LONGER may be a different story.

Thanks for posting. There are so many dangers to cats outdoors. One of my fave cats was killed by a car on a lonely country road and another was poisened.. Also, outdoor cats most always get fleas. 5/5

I don’t let my cats outside. My first cat went missing in 2007 and never returned. We think he was hit by a car. It was devastating to me. He was my angel. Sometimes I hope he comes come but I know he won’t.

    Thank you for …
Thank you for posting this!! I have been arguing these same points with different people (even one veterinarian) for years now. The fact is that indoor cats are healthier, happier, safer, and pose zero threat to wild animals. Indoor cats are in no way “deprived” because they do not go outside. Why is that so difficult for people to understand???

yeah but make sure the collar can slip off so it cant hang itself. My cats are indoor but they really want to go outside so I take them on a leash in the back yard.

My cats are weird! When I let them out they just hang around the house and never run away. Just lay in the grass or on the patio and eat some grass, they even beg to go back inside! I guess it’s because they’re scared to go in the street. But keeping cats indoors is for the best,so many outside cats/strays around here!
