Could long term/permanent exposure to UV light damage ones health or effect their eyes?

Thinking of having one in my room (not growing cannabis) and i have a habit of falling asleep with light on, which is bad for your health anyway.

UV exposure cumulatively increases skin cancer risk, and can damage both the cornea and the retina of the eye.

    Over exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer and cataracts.
