With birth control like the depo shot why cant women go to the health dept and get it?

March 102010

Its free, just think we might not have the abortion topic like it is now if all women that play will be responsible and get on some form of birth control and stop using abortion as a birth control method.
no one is saying about rape. harm or death to the mother im talking about being responsible.

I agree, I have been saying this forever. The ridicules amount of money we pay in taxes and the millions Planned Parenthood make in profit. Should certainly go towards birth control!

@Annamarie 1% of abortions preformed is due to rape. 1% incest. 3% the mothers health, and the rest birth control.

@Westhill Most people know what they are doing when having sex. Sex ed is not the problem. Ignorance is. Each year, about two percent of women aged 15-44 have an abortion; 47% of them have had at least one previous abortion.

    Well, there’s always rape.
And no type of birth control is 100 percent effective. People still get pregnant. So, people will still be getting abortions.
This depo shot you speak of, my friend got pregnant while on that.

We need better sex ed, and we need to have it aimed at preventing pregnancies. Abortion can and should be presented as a last resort. I think this is the kind of thing that Obama will be aiming to do soon — at least, that is what he said at the Notre Dame graduation speech last month.

According to FBI statistics, in 25 percent of "rape" cases where a DNA test was done, the evidence excluded the primary suspect. In other words, the accusation of rape was false.

Great idea. Let’s teach it in schools. Oh wait….you guys are against teaching that kind of thing.

Not everyone can take the shot but everyone can certainly find a type of birth control that will work for them. All we need is a little education on the subject…that requires a few folks to pull their heads out of their hoo haws and see the big picture.

Do they need to be in charge, for their decisions could determine if the child will be Democrat or Republican, conflict of interest.

exactly there is no need for abortion as there are many different forms of free contraceptive devices available, its not like when I was a young man and it was a rubber or the old pull out method which didn’t work well. Abortion is the pre meditated murder of a living human being legal or not its still murder. Thank you for posting this and all the abuse that the liberals will lob your way for doing so.

Why put the burden on being responsible on the woman? How come men don`t get vasectomies, use prophylactics or demand birth control pills, patches or injections so that they don`t get someone pregnant? If pharmaceuticals can come up with Viagra, then why can`t they come up with some birth control medicine for men? I believe that subconsciously, men love to get someone pregnant because it shows their virility and that they are real machos. The reason I believe this is because I have met many unmarried men who boast about having 10, 13, 24 kids; mind you that they don`t support any of those kids, so I think it`s a macho trip for many men. If more men were forced to pay child support they would be more responsible in their sex practices.

This is why I believe the responsibility falls on both, this is not just a "One Way Street". It takes two to tango, women do not get pregnant by themselves and men don`t get pregnant, they impregnate. I believe It`s high time for men to be real men and get more involved in the consequences, perhaps if they did, instead of just having a grand sex time, boasting of their macho prowess and making kids they`re not going to support, they could actively save some babies from being aborted.

Westhill: Yeah right, if indeed Obama is conserned about the numbers of abortions being performed in the US, then why did he reinstate Partial-Birth-Abortions and Embrionic-Stem-Cell-Research? Pres. Bush had stopped both of these practices and he made them legal again. If the average American stopped to think about these two practices which I consider to be inhumane and an insult to the unique preciousness of a human baby`s life, they also would get sick to their stomachs just as many pro-life believers do. Not giving medical attention to a baby born in a Partial-Birth-Abortion procedure is more inhuman than abusing a dog or a cat; it is murder. I have met a young lady whose mother had one of these procedures and she was born alive. One of the attending nurses gave her primary attention and then took her to a hospital where she was cared for and then she was placed for adoption. She was adopted and today she is a wonderfull 22 year old woman; there are many others who have been saved as she was; If they had been born after Obama passed this inhuman law they would be dead; this is what is happening to those babies now, they are deprived of medical attention and left to die.
